French mantel clock or sometimes called a "table clock". From the Napoleon 3rd period, circa 1850. Striking the number on the hour and once on the half onto a gong. Serial No. 31596. Signed Japy Frees. 18" (46cm) high, 8" (20cm) wide, 8" (20cm) deep. Pierced cast case backed with red silk.
